Watching the Colts vs Steelers game tonight I noticed the absence of Ahmad. My first thought was "is he injured again?" Doing a google search I find that he is indeed injured and out for the rest of the season with a wrist injury that will require surgery. Nobody picked him up this year before the Colts brought him back for depth. With yet another injury I have to wonder is his NFL career over? As great a runner as he is, he just can't stay healthy. I'm thinking this might be it for him.

Average career of an NFL running back is 3.11 years. The fact he was drafted in 2007 & is still around is pretty impressive. And the two rings don't hurt either.

Phantom, I had the same thought when I heard the news last week.

I remember him my Sr. year @ MU which was our first in CUSA and you guys are on point. He's lasted longer than most and accomplished more than most. Though I don't personally know Ahmad, my friends do. I hope he can at least ride the pine for another couple. Dude has bookoo kids and would have mad alimony and child support payments I'd imagine. Hope he was smart with his $ at the very least. The Giants stole him in round 7, the off field issues coupled with the fact that he indeed played CUSA ball hurt the draft stock. I didn't keep up with his contracts after the first year, but i really hope he negotiated well and got what he was worth. Truth be told he is one of the toughest guys in the league. The fact he could catch the ball outta the backfield set him apart from most other backs. He had great hands and we all know was a tremendous runner. I hope AB gets a bit more time in the league before he hangs up what has been a kick ass career!
