I actually think Trump's visit was extremely smart & Hillary not going was incredibly asinine. Obama not going is the right call but of course, now he's going. You've seen one flood, you've seen them all.
You mean the exact same governor who called Trump's visit "helpful"?of course the governor of the state asked them not to come because of the resources it takes for such a visit, but...

the same governor that said, "the president is welcome to come to our state anytime that he wants to."
Watch the video I just posted.
Yup, but then the same governor & also Democrat Mary Landrieu were complimentary of Trump's visit. The same governor called it helpful.EDWARDS: But I’ve been talk (ph) — the White House asked me — in fact, the president and Valerie Jarrett asked me when would be a good time for a visit. I asked them to let us get out of the response mode where we were still conducting searches of houses, and we were still making rescues. I didn’t want to divert these police officers, sheriff’s deputies and state troopers and other essential resources and assets to providing security for the president while they were needed in this region to undergo those — or to undertake those response activities. And I asked that if he could wait until the response was over and we got into the recovery phase, which I predicted we would do over the weekend and certainly next week would be a better time for us to visit. But the president is welcome to come to our state anytime that he wants to.

keep repeating a lie long enough and it will still be a lie. Here are the words of the Gov of LA. BOOM!of course the governor of the state asked them not to come because of the resources it takes for such a visit, but...
Louisiana flooding and Appalachian flooding are different. WV Floods the water is there for a day or so and starts going down with usually and swift current. Louisiana floods are like filling a baking pan with water. It just sits there for days on end. Both have there own unique problems. You've seen one flood, you've seen them all.

You look up at the levy. The river level is still below the french quarter. Thats why the french quarter hardly ever gets flooded. Its the old part of town where they knew didnt flood so much. The outer areas like the 9th ward and metaire are in the newer man made areas where they have drained marsh land and made the land settle below sea level. Hence why 9th ward and Metaire flooded, while the french quarter only suffered wind damage. My chums there actually evactuated livingston and ascension parrish and went to New Orleans this time. Usually its the other way aroundit's always an odd feeling being in the french quarter and looking up at the mississippi river.
