Will somebody dumb this down for BC and let him know that Cuomo was quoting somebody by using it? Hell, he even stated that.
Does it surprise anybody that every time a famous liberal uses this word, people like riflearm get on here and defend their use of the word each and every time?

As for his actions not supporting the theory . . . he was fined a seven-figure penalty for purposely not renting to blacks. You realize that, right? When he did it again and was caught, he was fined again. He took out a full page ad against the wrongfully convicted Central Park teens. Even after it was later shown that they were not guilty of the crime for which they were convicted, cheeto double-downed and continued to claim they were guilty. How about the people who used to be close to him who have heard him make racial slurs about blacks, his claim about third-world/failing countries all being led by black people, etc.?

I read that NYT article, and it does in fact claim Italians in NYC were called "ni@@er wops" and "white ni@@ers." I find that believable. The darker Italians, southern Italians and Sicilians, were indeed looked at as black. They were a source of cheap labor in the period after the Civil War.
"Guinea", also mentioned in the article, was a common pejorative as well. If you didn't get an F in geography, you may know Guinea is a nation in Africa. The region was called Guinea long before that...like when the Moroccans came down to that region, kicked its ass, and sold its inhabitants into slavery. Many Guineas were sold in the Pongo River area of that nation and brought to the colonies and later the USA. So in essence, yes people were quite factually calling Italians black-assed Africans.
Of note, Italians were most definitely called Guineas in West Virginia, especially dark skinned Italians. The term crossed over into also being a slur used against the Chesnut Ridge people, who are likely tri-racial isolates (white, black, and Native American mixed), and the slur is used against these darker skinned people to this day, while now WV has an Italian-American in the US Senate.
