“Half of my heart is in Havana, ooh na na / ay ay
He took me back to East Atlanta na na na”

LOL... East Atlanta, north of I-20 near Ponce City and Little 5-Points is really cool, (it has a college town vibe to it) south of 1-20 (still has some work to do). I will say I've lived here for over 20 years, and like any big city you have to be aware of your surroundings. But I've never felt unsafe, as compared to the 4 years I lived in Detroit back in the later 80's. The suburbs were fine, Royal Oak, Birmingham, etc.... but downtown Detroit was downright scary.

I was born and raised here in Atlanta

I went to a school out in cobb county near six flags called "Pebblebrook" and actually played basketball against the infamous Skip Henderson.

Jannson Williams is my stepson.

Very nice! My kids went to Pope playing football and a few other varsity sports. We use to play Pebblebrook in conference until they moved up to 7-A, Pope is currently 6-A. We've had a few kids from our neighborhood graduate from the Performing Arts magnet school at Pepplebrook, which is top notch! Boy do I remember Skip Henderson, I went to Western Carolina Univ in the early 80's and he used to torch us, as well as every team in the SoCon for the matter. LOL

Small world!

He and his brother, Keith (who went on to playing RB for university of georgia and th SF 49ers) did a whole lot more than man-handle us back in high school. They were definitely men among boys. side note, i did a lot of the plumbing and fire protection engineering for pope HS.......waaay back when.
