I actually follow Reddick on a few platforms - Old Man & The Three has had some really good episodes. He's tried to address this a few times since he made the comment but I don't know how any NBA player could watch the Last Dance & say "this league now is just as physical if not more."

On a side note, anytime I hear Bird & Wilkins name get brought up, I always think of Bird's quote regarding the Hawks' statue of Dominque outside Phillips arena...

Man, the league was incredibly physical back in the day. The Knick’s, Piston’s, and Celtics would just pummel teams. Hell, even the Lakers had Kurt Rambis. The East was just brutal back then.
This here is the greatest moment to sum up the 80s. After Laimbeer had flat out TACKLED Bird two games earlier, Laimbeer thought he could elbow The Big Chief...but Parish was just waiting for his chance to get revenge and this was as good a time as any:

NO FOUL WAS CALLED ON PARISH. NO FINES. NOTHING. Everyone knew Laimbeer had it coming, and that was that.

1989 Eastern Conference Finals, Bulls vs Pistons, here's a whole video of dirty play (and Rodman at 4:27 with some flying karate shit lol) :

This was not an anomaly. Two years later, conference finals, same teams and same shit:

Reddick doesn't know what the hell he is talking about.
