Saw a RT on Twitter that he has decided to forgo football and pursue a track career but Marshall won’t grant him his release.

If I am right, he was a pretty highly regarded WR recruit.

Looks like he is 1 of 3 that didn’t show up.

Not that it matters but Webb showed up and then left.

He was very highly regarded and a big loss.

He told me he wants to run track at Ole Miss.

It does matter. Obviously, he saw something he didn't like and left. Wonder how many other players past / future will do / did the same thing.

I was told that Randy Moss told him about all of the racism he faced in Huntington, so Webb left instead of having to deal with it.

Webb then talked to the National Guard and Mississippi State Police and determined that Ole Miss had a far better reputation of race relations than Marshall.

I believe there is a legal issue there if true. Better to let the young man go and if it is true Randy did say that.....it’s his problem!

One, there would be no legal issue. Two, it was a joke.

Ole Miss has a horrendous reputation of race relations going back to when the National Guard and state police had to escort a black student all over campus during segregation of the university, to the former Rebel mascot, to some recent frat incidents.

Well trying to find a positive here I guess, but that would leave WR as a concentration this coming class. With our main deep threat gone after this year, it would be a selling point for recruiting, but it would suck bad to have a true freshman filling that role next year...

Webb was likely the guy that would have filled Brady's shoes after this season. My guess is that he either got homesick, is tired of football, or someone back home talked him into coming back home for school and a likely spot on the football team next year at Ole Miss. Note, he is from Oxford and had been committed to Ole Miss before flipping to MU.
