I am sure all the people who thought John Bolton was an insane person will now back Bolton's version because of Trump.
You beat me to it. T-minus 5 minutes until liberals start defending Bolton for the first time in history.
There should have been a thread started when all these HN moderators were fired.
While that too will be fun, I think both are nuts and arrogant. That is where the real fun may happen.

I saw liberals defending him on some forums i watch and social media. Bolton is the biggest neocon warhawk of this decade. hahahaaaaa
I'll give him this: if this stemmed from him opposing having the Taliban visit Camp David, I am on his side on that. Fvck those guys. That's the war I supported 100%, killing every last one of them.
Ok, but we have been there 18 years. How do we do it? We were on the eve of a negotiation and they killed a paratrooper from the 82nd a few days ago and we walked away from the negotiation. So, how do we kill all of them? You know me, I am for ass kicking when need be but, what do we do.
We should have just unmercifully kicked the shit out of a lot of people after 9-11. Just like Dresden, Germany. But, how do you do it to barbarians who live like it was 1000 years ago? I am being serious. Personally, if I were in charge after 9--11 I would have made a parking lot out of some places and they would have seen don't ever do that shit again or Mecca is next.
I am no general, but I think maybe not wasting a huge part of our war resources on Iraq, that had nothing to do with 9/11, may have been of some help.
Maybe, but would we have sent more into Afghanistan? We could have been sending more along the way since the start. We have had how many leaders/generals and 3 presidents?

Bolton says he offered to resign over the camp David /Taliban meeting. Trump ask he sleep on it - then fired him before they had a chance to revisit.
Now, Bolton was a bad hire to be sure. His position on issues weren't secret. He made them known on Fox News for years. Why Trump would put him in that position made absolutely no sense.
However, say what you want about Bolton, he lets you know what he thinks. He doesn't strike me as a liar. He has a ton more credibility than Trump in this area..... But then, who doesn't?

No shit. I've been consistent on weighing the gravity of the situation before blood and treasure are spent. I'd have every last one of the killed, and their families as well. The Taliban are the embodiment of everything radical Islam kills for. And that's well and good if they want to do it their own people...but the second they took in the cocksuckers that had also declared war on the USA and gave them safe haven, it's time to die and be the example that needs to be made.
And it's not like the guys who wanted to replace them were angels...but at least they were wise enough to more carefully choose their friends.
You really know what that would take to do that? It would be just a few holly wood movies involving seal teams and such. That is going to take grunts and the support for them. In some of the harshest terrain in the world. IT would not be an open desert tank war and what are you going to do? They live like nomadic cave dwellers to begin with. 18 years later do you think the American people would be willing to send in two or three infantry divisions to do it?
That's the problem, we shouldn't be discussing them being around 18 years later. 18 years ago, we could have burned the entire country to the ground and everyone would have cheered. Well, as much as you can burn what's there, but you get my point.
