Jon Elmore

Those of us from the mid 80's would never believe that this day is coming. Glad to have him on board.

Good for him; if he can light it up like his dad could this could also become very good for MU.

Also represents a great element of "fatherhood", showing that the child and his/her needs always come first. Who knows, maybe his dad was a bit upset for those years because he wasn't at MU himself.

Like I've said before, Gay was a helluva a competitor and hated to lose, to anyone. He went 1-8 vs the Herd and the fans gave it to him pretty good but he gave it back too. He was one of those guys you loved to hate, he was so damn emotional.

I think his Dad actually took it harder than he did. If you are or have been a parent of an athlete, I'm sure you can understand.

Thrilled to have his son at Marshall!

Glad to see he is deciding to play locally. This will give his friends and family a lot of opportunity to see play.

Here is a highlight video from his junior year at Christ School in NC. All you need to see is TD first minute to know what he brings to the table.

For those of us that WERE there in the 80's and gave Gay such a hard time, wouldn't it be a show of class if we give Jon AND his father a standing ovation the first time he takes the court! Gay was a true competitor. Always left everything out on the floor. Enjoyed watching the battle w/ him and VMI.

This guy is exactly the type we need to bring the Herd back. DD knows what he is doing and is going after a certain type of player. I assure you all he needs is 1-2 big guys and we will be set in a few years.

I think we need a couple legitimate guys on the perimeter, too. I would be shocked ,after hearing DD's post game Saturday,if several guys were told they needed to find somewhere else come the offseason.

He is applying for hardship waiver that would let him start iat start of next season vs mid-year. If denied he can play as soon as 1st semester ends

Get your popcorn ready for the West Liberty game.

They scored 117 points last night and made 21 threes.

Seriously, hoping that the recruit from Louisville, transfer from Miami, and Elmore at least head us in the right direction. Need more legitimate D-I players but at least it feels like we're going forward.

Playing VMI was boring until Gay arrived. Gay's dad was upset that the 12 VMI fans had to sit in the nosebleeds instead of being the visitors bench like most places. Mr. Elmore said Huck ran a low class program. The next year when VMI played here Gay was showered with Pampers during introductions. It really got the crowd into it.

It is kind of hard to believe Elmore is coming after that. Maybe their beef was mainly with Huck and not MU. If Jon is really that good of a shooter, he seems like a good catch for DD.

Yes, West Liberty has reloaded again.

Still undefeated and unanimous #1 in the nation.

Seger Bonifant is about 6-6 or 6-7 and is averaging over 27 ppg. He is shooting 71-128 for 3 pointers with an average of 55%. No, this is not an anomaly, he is shooting over 50% for his career.

Going into the season I thought we might be down a bit with all the turnover, but I honestly think this might be one of West Liberty's better teams. Very long and athletic. Great ball movement, and getting a lot of turnovers with the press this year.

I'll tell ya what though. Glenville has adopted West Liberty's style of play and is having a lot of success with it so far. I look for them to continue to improve with their new coach.

Give it some time guys, Marshall basketball is trying to implement a very similar style. Once DD gets some players in his system, it is going to be really fun to watch.
