Most of you and many of the democrats are just going to go against everything Trump does.

And how was that different with the Republicans during Obama's tenure?
seems to be a winning plan by republicans....look at the seats lost across the country in state legislatures, state governors, and the US Congress plus Trump.

So the moderates and conservatives (mainstream/republican..whatever term you want) should keep doing what they are doing and let the far left nuts (85% of democratic party) keep doing what they are doing. I like the trend.

Dems wont be happy until they have a woman president with a penis...start busting heads

Are you referring to the seats lost by the Republicans? It certainly was not earth shattering, but the Republicans did lose seats to the Democrats in both Houses and Trump lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million votes. Yes Trump did win the electoral college which is all that matters in terms of becoming President, it does however make it difficult for people to make the argument that people voted loud and clear that they wanted him to win over Clinton.

And you wonder why I am questioning your opinions today?????

Of course they will, but it's fun to find out the reason why. The first responder is a born again hippie. The rest are sympathizers to all the Democrat party's pitied species list.

Two baseball teams. The first wins on opening day 300-0 and then loses all the rest of their games 1-0. Second team goes undefeated, winning every game 1-0. Which is the better team? Which finishes first in the standings?

I wish people would just get over the popular vote thing. All Hillary did was win two blowouts (California and New York) in a 50 game season, but she finished 10 games under .500 and lost all the big games down the stretch.

how is it possible people in this country don't understand the electoral college. how freakin stupid is the left? god I hope they have some smarter than 06 and greed?
The teaching of us government civics has vanished. I work with high schoolers and it amazes me how many of them can't name the Vice President how many judges are on the Supreme Court or name a judge on the supreme court

FYI.....Those on the Right are just as stupid...The Electoral College in it's current form is counter to it's original intent.....It's actually swung towards the problem that it originally was designed to solve.

It needs amended, not abolished.......

Despite what some liberal scholars NOW say (they were espousing the complete opposite prior to the election), the electoral college worked exactly how it was meant - it prevented larger, more populous states from controlling the election. Absent it's presence, Cali and NY would pretty much control every national election, something the founders would not have favored, and that would have, inevitably, led to disolution of the Union. Oh, and get over the notion of changing it. Good luck getting enough "flyover" states to reach a 3/4 approval.

Counties won: Trump 2626 Hillary 487
States won: Trump 30 Hillary 20

if people could figure out the difference between a constitutional republic and a democracy they might begin to understand how and why our country works the way it does.

but American Civics hasn't been taught for 30 years.

And how would you amend it

It's actually amended quite often based on the census. It just needs a greater adjustment in order to truly represent the population of individual counties and states. Your vote in Montana, Idaho, Nebraska, West Virginia shouldn't be worth more (electorally) than your vote in Florida, Texas, California, New York.

and what is your basis for determining that the votes in WV and the others are worth more than the votes in CA and the like?

WV - 1 Electoral Vote per 366,000 people
CA - 1 Electoral Vote per 709,000 people
FL - 1 Electoral Vote per 1,000,000 people
NH - 1 Electoral Vote per 333,000 people
TX - 1 Electoral Vote per 737,000 people

The House of Representatives is a better split based on population.

FYI.....Trump still would have won under that scenario......243-192 give or take a few.

God, I hope cocky isn't in education

Why because I think individual voters deserve more representation? Because I believe ultra-partisanship is hurting this country.....And I mean by both parties. If you're a moderate in either party, you get crushed.

Do you take from what I wrote that I do not accept the Electoral College?

I am still scratching my head trying to determine how you inferred that I do not understand how the Electoral College works.

Interesting assertion seeing that those on this board have only witnessed this twice, our nation has witnessed it five times.

If you believe the electoral college is not in the best interest of the country, then you also have to, by default, believe that the composition of the Senate is also outdated.

Here's the thing, there is a popular vote for President. As a matter of fact, there are 51 Presidential races determined by popular vote. You don't need to win 26 of those to be President. As another matter of fact, you can be President by winning only 11 out of the 51.

We have the House and Senate to give a fair voice to all Americans. Likewise, we have a popular vote and the Electoral College to give that same fair voice in national elections.

Who would want California and New York picking the president all the time? Really the electoral college is pure genius for the people. The founders were smart.

The electoral college is fine in theory, but they certainly didn't do their job in this election. They sat by and allowed an altogether unqualified person set up camp in the white house.

Because Greed does not like educated people with money. Jealousy and hate have overwhelmed Greed. Greed's ZAPistm also impacted his life in a negative way.

Zero foreign policy experience.
Zero military experience (the qualification that you cons would like to be mandatory)
Doesn't understand the Constitution (probably hasn't read it)
Zero governing experience (less than a community organizer)
Zero people skills
Zero diplomacy
Can't fathom consequences
He's a moron.
An unabashed liar.
