The Knoxville, Tennessee Planned Parenthood abortion facility was deemed a total loss today after a early morning fire.
An Assistant Fire Chief said the first call came in at 6:40 A.M Eastern Time and when firefighters arrived, the fire was already through the roof.
Due to the extent of the fire, they decided against sending anyone else inside and fought the fire from the outside.
There is no official cause of the fire as of 11:00 PM, but Asst. Chief Brent Seymour said arson investigators would be inside as soon as it is safe.
He did say that it will be hard to determine a cause because the building was “completely destroyed.”
Planned Parenthood of Tennessee and Northern Mississippi said the facility had been undergoing renovations since Dec. 7th with plans to expand and said that the facility had been temporarily closed as a result.
No injuries were reported.
