Both getting their butts handed to them bottom tier P5 teams. La Tech is doing it at home.

UTSA did defeat Baylor, another B-12 team with barely a pulse. Kansas got creamed by a MAC school; another MAC school defeated Rutgers of the BIG 10 and Middle Tenn rebounded from bad home loss to Vandy and defeated ACC's Syracuse in the Dome Quality gap between conferences' "elites" and "bottom feeders" seems greater than ever, whether in the Power or Group of 5.

Any P5 game and win is a good one.

Yeah, sometimes an AD just strikes gold in scheduling. The guy at Central Michigan deserves a bonus for this year's schedule: Road games at P5 teams Syracuse, Kansas and Boston College, all winnable games with a pretty good $$$$ guarantee, I'd say. Sometimes pure luck is involved: Do you think that anyone at UTSA had any idea that their game at Baylor this past weekend was scheduled for any other reason than a big paycheck? But lo and behold, the Bears program is in a bigtime clusterf#$k, and the Roadrunners came out of Waco with a win!!

A lot of MAC schools because of their locations are able to get some power schools to play them at home for recruiting: this week Kansas is at Ohio U and Iowa St. at Akron; Boston College at NIU on 9/1. Same probably true for ODU down in Virginia peninsula, with North Carolina there on Saturday and VA Tech scheduled o play the Monarchs several times in next few years. Then, of course, Liberty with deep pocket books has already secured several with home games with Power teams and gave the Herd a half a million to play there with no return guarantee for a game in Huntington. They are also paying ODU over a million to play in Lynchburg.
