Lambert Gone

Hey guys, Purdue fan here! Wanted to stop by and get your thoughts on Lambert? It seems the reaction on our side is a mixed bag but I personally like it. Our head coach is going into his 5th year and is going on his 3rd DC (the last guy only coached 6 games for us last year before we let him go). We have 3 new defensive coaches including Lambert. What can we expect?

I can only tell you that Brohm (W. Ky.) has some history w/Lambert (Charlotte). Lambert did a very decent job at MU. Defense was #1 or #2 in the nation in a couple of categories this year.

"Marshall's defense led the nation in points allowed (13 points per game), ranked second in yards per game allowed (279.4) and third in yards per play allowed (4.4). "

One thing I can tell you for sure is that Lambert is a much better human being than Bob Diaco. How that turd keeps tricking schools into giving him jobs is beyond me.

Boy.. your Purdue brethren thinks highly of us....

"Hubris. A bunch of Marshall fans think that if they don't go undefeated every year, it's a failure. They act like it's still the 90s-early 2000s. Recruiting has changed, the internet has exploded, and there just isn't the information gap that there used to be. It's a lot harder for guys to slip through the cracks. "

Some Purdue fans are butthurt they are now clearly the third program in the state. Hell, they might be fourth considering how well Ball State did this season. At least they still have their big fvckin' drum.

Other Purdue fans know the truth...only basketball really matters lol.

One of my favorite football memories of the last decade was when we hosted Purdue... I brought my girlfriend, my parents, two of my best friends and their wives. Nice family outing.

Anyway, we get sat in front of four Purdue mouth breathers, who were so wasted they barely noticed a football game was going on. But they did remember to scream "Boiler Up" as loud as humanly possible after every play that gained positive yardage. Most of the game they talked shit about how great the Big10 is and how it was a shame they were playing down to Marshall (while being confident they would still win).

When MU ran back the pick six to seal it in the fourth quarter, my mom (who is the stereotypical sweet older lady) turned around and told the Purdue fans to "enjoy the rest of their 3-9 season."... It was a proud son moment.

Enjoyed the game at West Lafayette the year the Herd played the Boilers there . . . except for the final score. However, it was an entertaining game and we were in it until an interception or two, IIRC, helped seal the deal for Purdue. Older stadium but was nice. Friendly folks overall, IMO. Like the concession stands in the end zone where most MU fans were sitting. Wish we had done our South Zone in a similar fashion. Particularly like the concession deal where you could buy a large soft drink in a plastic Purdue cup and then take it back for free refills until something like the end of the 3rd Quarter or early 4th Quarter. We had a group of 12 and several people bought the cheapest/smallest soft drink initially and then we used the one big Purdue plastic cup purchased to keep the other cups filled all game long!;)

I enjoyed the home Purdue game. A lot of energy in and around the Joan. But man was it hot before the game...

Every school has their idiot fans but the Purdue fans we encountered that day were top notch. Props to your mom though. Too funny 😀

Just think, we would have won against them at Purdue, had any other human being than "Rippon the Car Salesman," been our defensive coordinator.
