I could be wrong, but I think the 8 first downs allowed Saturday were the fewest allowed to an FBS team since the '97 Ohio game - when we gave up 2 first downs the whole game.
I went back and checked game books going back to 2000 and saw some games with 9 and 10 allowed but nothing 8 or lower. I can't find anything prior to 2000.
