Latest conspiracy theory

I work with a guy that buys into the weather stuff and the way they control the birds and animals.

As if the flat earthers and anti-vaxxers were not enough, I'm starting to see a lot of chatter that the recent hurricanes are government created by seeding and the HAARP program. Its really beyond me how people can believe this stuff. Here's an article on HAARP...

lumping vaccine injuries to flat earth and HAARP is quite a stretch. There is a reason why some are afraid of some vaccines the govt is trying to shove down everyones throats,
The National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986, limited the legal liability of vaccine makers and created the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP) in the Department of Health and Human Services. The VICP is a no-fault route for people injured by vaccines to win damages from a government trust fund financed by an excise tax on vaccines. (Despite the law's title, adults, too, can win compensation for vaccine injuries.)
Since its first case in 1988, the vaccine court has adjudicated more than 16,000 petitions and dismissed two-thirds of them. To the successful petitioners, and their lawyers, it has awarded about $3.6 billion. You may think it is funny to mock those who have been injured by vaccines but the court and the US govt don't agree

Oh for crying out loud. Of course I'm equating anti vaxxers to flat earthers. Literally millions of children have been saved through vaccinations. Are you telling me you think there's some kind of government conspiracy involved? What would they gain from that? You could literally populate the entire world with people saved through vaccines. Just the eradication of smallpox alone saves millions a year.

Maybe I'm not following you, but are you comparing the litigious compensation of vaccine injury to the literally millions upon millions of people saved through the development of vaccines? Injury as a result of vaccination is extremely rare. However, childhood death rates due to the eradication of small pox, measles, polio, diphtheria, etc. has plummeted since the development of vaccines is

So yeah...I'm lumping them.

I said to put them together is wrong. There are real people who have been injured and some of them have real concerns. Are you denying that nobody has ever been harmed by a vaccination? If you had you might have a concern about taking one.3.6 billion in payouts says to me it is wrong to lump their concerns with flat earth foolishness There is no Govt compensation for flat earth or HAARP. I didn't say nobody has ever been helped by vaccines and I am not saying their is a conspiracy.

I'm not sure your age and if you have children, but if you do, are they vaccinated? If you don't, will you vaccinate when you do?

Here's the thing...the risk to your children is so much greater left unvaccinated that it's criminal for a parent to leave it undone. You're throwing up the compensation amount for vaccination injury as though it's proving your point.

The vaccine compensation act was created to protect vaccinations...not levy any punitive damages for the drug companies that produced them. The threat of lawsuits created the fear that this would reduce the drug companies ability to produce adequate supplies of life saving vaccines and cause a rise in preventable disease. So they created a fund...not paid for by the drug companies...but by an excised tax on the vaccines themselves. This isn't punitive action against a culpable industry. This is actually freeing the industry to do their job efficiently. The consumer pays for it. And also note that 2/3s of the people who apply for compensation are denied.

No...I think I'll stand by my statement. Vaccinations saves millions. If the parachutes didn't open one time out of a million jumps I'm sure there is grounds for suing. So the faulty chute compensation far exceeds what the other 999,999 jumpers received. So does that mean we need to start jumping out of planes without parachutes?

Couple of points here. Thanks for the lecture I forgot you are a expert on everything. Second, my kids and I have been vaccinated. Third, all I said is it is wrong to attack a certain number of people who have been harmed or have some fears as being on the same page as flat earthers. I know you dont read what I say cause I already told you what my objection was. I never said a #$@% thing about not vaccinating. So yes I stand by my statement.

Thanks Sisters.

I'm hardly an expert on anything but I do try to educate myself as much as possible on things I feel strongly about. I'm sorry you feel that way
ohio herd and I can tell you that I wasn't trying to lecture. I was just doing what you do on this board...argue with passion. It's fun and forces you to sharpen your blade or be taken to task. That's the spirit I post with and I can honestly say I hold no malice or ill will with anyone here. Never took it that serious.

The anti vax thing hit my hot spot because it's a science issue and I'm passionate about that. I do believe what I'm saying and also believe in the facts I laid out. So I won't apologize for that or for educating myself about things I argue. But I will apologize if I came across as condescending. I've never called a person an idiot or moron and I try to respectfully present my side. If it came off like that I apologize.
