I saw a tweet similar to this but it was WKU and not ODU... Basically, Southern Miss is a done deal to the West Division. Sun Belt would also add WKU to West and Marshall/James Madison to the East.

For F's sake... If our leadership think adding JMU and Liberty to stay in a 9-team league that also still somehow has UTEP is the right plan, they can take a hike.

Accept the Sun Belt invite with Southern Miss and do not look back.

Theoretical leagues --
CUSA -- Marshall, WKU, MTSU, UTEP, FIU, ODU, La Tech, Liberty, James Madison -- Spread all the heck over the place, still have Judy, no title game, overall trash outside of WKU, La. Tech and Liberty (who will jump ship as fast as a better offer comes along).

Sun Belt -- Marshall, Coastal Carolina, App State, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Troy
So. Miss, Lafayette, La. Monroe, Texas State, South Alabama, Arkansas State -- More regional, currently better football product, championship game, more stable conference leadership.

The AAC really missed the boat on leaving Marshall out....they should have been concentrating on programs with winning traditions that are still good year in and out with a sizable fanbase.

Rice? Other than a GPA booster with a huge endowment they offer nothing. UNT? Great jazz school, nothing else. Charlotte? aren't they like the 10th best school in their state? Aresco is so stupid.

Hope Marshall can get a better slot than in the new CUSA.
