I'm not for more ground troops but dear lord why are we giving notice before we bomb? It's like a street fight with rules IMHO.
I don't think we need massive amounts of ground troops and the numbers I hear from so called experts are anywhere from a few thousand to the high end 10,000. 200 or whatever they have sent is not enough.
We are fighting a political correct battle. That is why we give them notice. It is insane really.
I'd commit to one MEU, a Ranger BTN and the SPECOPS already there with a very loose ROE plan
I would add a large number of Green Beret, Special forces, units. This a very good application for them. To work with the indigenous people. I lie to overplan. I am problem sending the MEU and a regiment from the 82nd. About 5,000 troops or so.
The problem is now they are stretched so thin.

As a timeline dtard the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs was my BN CO in 1997, he was a Lt. Colonel. It took him close to18 years to advance 5 grades to a 4 star general. Which is basically how long it to Peters to go from a 2nd Lt to a Lt. Colonel
