Lumber is not his future

Some kid at the lumber store couldn’t get the barcode to read on a board I was purchasing. I told him it was a 1x8 pine board. He argued with me and told me it was a 1x6. I just love it when some 18 year old contradicts me in an area where I have worked three times longer than he has been alive.

Should have went and got a tape off the shelf, measured it and told him to find the price for a 3/4x7 1/2.

Pine is a very stiff type of wood which still makes it a durable furniture option. An added advantage to using pine, being a softwood, is that hardwood will often warp in humid environments whereas pine will have minimal shrinking or swelling issues.
