Morrisey is simply not a likable person. Who would the average West Virginian rather go fishing and split a 12 pack with?
I would probably pick @WV-FAN but we would opt for a 30 pack.
WVians have been hung up on names for years. Manchin is one of those names the folks love. Personally, I think Manchin does a decent job, and I look for him to change parties shortly after being elected, assuming the GOP stays in power.
Just to warn you, he likes those fruity beers, because he too is a little fruity.

It's amazing so many have forgotten that senators are supposed to be more down-the-middle, open to compromise, and not swayed by the temporary ravings of the public. That is the design of the senate.
None are great, that's for damn sure; but Morrisey looks like a smarmy little shit. I couldn't vote for him.
As BC noted Manchin is polling under 50% and having 16% undecided is not great news for an incumbent like Manchin.
Isn't the GOP candidate a transfer in from Jersey? If that's how I remember this thing, he likely isn't going to beat the home boy. I wouldn't even vote for a guy or woman from Jersey. WV folk don't like carpet baggers from the North, especially Jersey. Rednecks will only go so far when it comes to supporting the Trump guy.
Yep...and people don’t understand how heavily Morrisey will carry the northern part of the state. That area is growing and they vote for him in droves. If he is just competitive in the central and southern part of the state he will win by a few points.

I still think some shadow group for Manchin should have made a costume that looks like an OxyContin and had someone show up in it to his campaign events. It could be like that condom mascot in Amazon Women on the Moon:

I give you the eastern panhandle but that’s not what you said. No way morrisey wins northern panhandle and northern counties, no way.
The northern part of the state and eastern panhandles are both more blue than other parts of the state. I just looked at a voting results map the other day from the last election. Trump won both areas but his smallest margins of victory were the northern part of the state and the eastern panhandle.
The smallest margins of victory for trump were Brooke, Cabell, Jefferson, Kanawha, Marion, Monongalia and Ohio counties.
At least Jay earned it by moving to WV as a young man with VISTA to fight poverty. He could have sat on his rich ass and done nothing for anyone.
Morrisey made a bunch of money lobbying for pill pushers and then picked a state where he thought he could buy a state-wide office.
