Manchin running away with the race

Way to go nominating a carpetbagger scumbag, GOP voters.

WV's 2nd House district is already represented by a carpetbagger. Enough is enough.

As vulnerable as Manchin is, the republicans just haven’t put a candidate against him to take advantage of that vulnerability. Blankenship and Morrisey both are tainted. It’s not only the outsider thing with Morrisey, but he represents an industry and product that is currently at the height of scrutiny in WV. His timing is terrible. The amount of painkillers that has flooded this state and the devastation that they’ve left makes him just a point blank target with negative ads. Jenkins was just soft. And if Blankenship does squeeze himself back in the picture I have to believe the margin increases. But it’s way early. There’s still a way to goes on this one. Trump was probably double digits down five months out as well. But on the surface it looks like the Republicans might have blown this one by not fielding someone without baggage.

This is all what happens when the base is who turns out for primaries. They don't think one bit about who can win in November.

Rather than trust a slanted democrat poll, let's just wait until November. One thing I found interesting in the primary is that while Manchin got over 100,000 votes, his challenger got something like 48,000. Are those far left voters, or are they voters who are democrats in name only and will side with Morrissey in the general election like they did for Trump?

Time will tell.

maybe Cryin Chuck will let him stand and clap if he gets another term!

Raoul is turning into a premature ejaculater like most libiots

Joe was never vulnerable in this race. What's been the closest state wide race he has ever been in?

He’s been targeted by Trump who is extremely popular in WV. I’d say that makes him vulnerable. I’ve read many national political articles that tout him as vulnerable. Here’s a couple on a cursory glance...

I think Manchin hurt himself a little for forcing the WVU/Marshall game as well. I know a ton of WVU fans who don’t like him for that very reason.

But maybe you’re right. If he isn’t vulnerable it probably has more to do with the sleaze level of his opposition. Which is kind of my point.

No offense but the national press has no idea what goes on in West Virginia politics. Or West Virginia as a whole.

As a Rep. I always voted for the person, not the letter that was beside the name. The person who I felt would do the best job for the state. That said, just my personal opinion but Jenkins, Morrisey and Donny B. are all clowns and not worthy for dog catcher. As a nation we've gone to the extreme right and left and that's not a good thing. Again just my opinion.

So you think Democrats (or Republicans for that matter) pay for polls to tell them what they want to hear?

That sounds like a solid strategy (Sarcasm).

Absolutely. And if you don’t think they do then you’re being extremely naive. Polls done by parties like this are done to shape public opinion, not reflect it.
