This is awesome! I'm not referring to the prisoner exchange. I'm referring to trump's claim which was just shown to be false (shocker!) and Vance looking like a fool by having to cover up for him.

First, let's look at what trump said 2.5 months ago:



Now, Vance has to make excuses for his new boss. As I said last week, when trump loses, he will make Vance the scapegoat. He will blame it all on Vance, while in the meantime, Vance will ruin his future political career as he has shown to be doing a good job of accomplishing already:

I'm reading the Journal piece that was released this morning. I want to read a few other accounts of the deal but if folks have time, the Journal's article can be found here. It's a little dry but so far pretty interesting.

I’m glad they’re back but I really don’t enjoy handing over assassins in exchange for journalists. If you are a westerner and willingly go to Russia you are a complete moron. I’d take my chances in North Korea first.

The WSJ guy is pretty bad ass for using the mandatory clemency form he had to fill out to request an interview with Putin though.

This is one of those situations where I think people really should read the details - they might be conflicted, too. Glad they're back but people really should understand what we're giving Putin in these deals.
