Marshall #36 in Coaches Poll:

You know it is a shame we might end up 11-1 and have to fight for a spot in the Top 25 this regular season. The G5 teams are having some good years. Marshall, W.KY - Toledo, Memphis, Houston, Temple and Navy all doing well.

We'll see at least a few of those teams drop a few in the next several weeks.

Agreed w/cocky - The American teams are getting ready to devour each other. I haven't looked @ any of their skeds except for UH: They now have UC & Memphis @ home before finishing the reg season @ Navy. We shall see, Coug, where the Coogs epic fail occurs................
(Can he resist responding?) Find out in 3........2...........1............
Go HERD !!

Saddest thing for them...only ONE can make the access bowl...the champion...and even the champion could have 2 losses barring an upset, and the entire conference would miss out.
...and then...with a swift gust of financial wind...Memphis, Houston, Temple, and Toledo's coaches...poof...are gone!

The AAC is back to its usual self.

You either need to get your eyes checked or are too stupid to read properly. We have Cincy, Memphis and Navy at home and UCONN on the road.

(spits baccer juice into brass spittoon, wipes mouth with right shirt sleeve), eye don' c how
yer 'spectin' to geet outta innergee field afore
you git at leest too losses. Those Tigers show
a passel of claws that mite be 2 much for a mountain cat to handle, an' Eye ain't never seen no Bearkat, but sounds right fearsome.
And as sure as your granny's boil, a Husky is used to that Artic air anna Texas cat has no
tolarance for that kin' cold. Lastin' lee you got
the Rams a comin' into Sam Houston, who gets rite much 'spect inese parts, an they run that three teat option. Nobody plays agin' it,
& those Middies run it right sneaky-like.
Yessiree, mr Koogar, you gotchersef a long row

rest-spell in dat whole stretch! (spits again,
misses wide right) dammit! You holler back after the hog gits slaughtered......we'll be ritcherr just-a rock in' on the front porch....

Houston has 8 wins and those opponents have a combined 16 wins, they have played nobody so far, hell WKU beat Vandy at Vandy. They will drop at least 2 before the end of the season and will not be playing for a conference championship.

I don't know who in the world is voting for us...solich? Doc? But bless their hearts.

Important week. the line will end up +- 2.5 either way. If we can win by at TD at MT. I think you will see a favorable jump
in the Polls. Boise with 7 votes is totally ridiculous. It's obvious they are getting kudos on name sake alone. Anyone that has
actually watched the Broncos this year knows they shouldn't be close to that.

They've done way more than we have. We would be a pretty big underdog to them.

I'm not sure how so. Their marquee win is to a .500 Washington who is hanging their only hat on a win against an overrated USC.

Our marquee win was against a 2 -6 team who finally won a conference game for only like the second out of 19 tries.

Or it may be Southern Miss, a team who proclaimed to be "back" after ALMOST beating the team that just lost to that 2-6 team...

Edit: oh and they went on the road and crushed a Virginia team that should have beat Notre Dame the week before.

You are crazy. What's our marquee win? Also, If we went to UVa and blew them out people would be saying it was the biggest win in school history.

1 2 3 and coogie totally misses the point.

For sure with CUSA being CUSA it will take 11-1 to crack the Top 25 - thing is I think we will end up 10-2 and that will not do it. Marshall will not defeat WKU at WKU unless Holliday has seriously been holding back and the entire world is totally unaware of the ultimate potential of this years edition of The Herd...dont think that has really taken place and WKU as far as this conference is concerned ( after watching them in Baton Rouge vs LSU..much more than most Herd fans think or will give them credit for being.

They spoiled the party last season and with this game being at their house , have the same expectation this season. Keep in mind to set up the ultimate CUSA match..we have to win at MTSU first.

Just calling it as I see it and not trying to knock someones cup of Koolaid out of their hand.

Not being that way at all , just calling it as it will in all likelihood play out that is if we make it by Middle Tennessee..if not then I look for a definite win by WKU , not a probable but definite win by WKU ending with a 9-3 record before we go to another very low level bowl and defeat the likes of Savannah State.

Not trying to be pessimistic at all , just seeing things as they may very well play out and in the immortal words of Howard Cosell..Just calling it as I see it.

Time was when I seriously paid attention to this board I would basically go year in and year out predicting our season record...that was then this is now..but the game at Middle will definitely give some insight as to what will take place at WKU a team that was not at all intimidated by LSU.

LSU completely dominated WKU. They have no defense. Look for a convincing win in M-boro in the frigid temps of Tennessee.

Then explain 62 pass attempts by the WKU QB vs LSU.

Have any idea what a less than LSU D will have happen to it if the kid throws that many times vs Marshall.

Seriously , a loss at Middle will set up at best 9-3 and another pizza bowl.

So by your logic, Marshall's high powered offense is just as strong, fast and good as LSU, therefore the Herd will dominate WKU. Good to know.

48-20...and it likely would have been 55-13 had doughty not gotten lucky and been given another chance to score on them.

That's the only stat that matters. Do you honestly think anyone is going to care how many times he passed the ball? Especially a bunch of unqualified judges of college football?
All they care about is the final score...and wku was absolutely outplayed for about 90% of that game.
You remind of the wvu fans when they got crushed by LSU...bragging about "Well we moved the ball on their supposed good D and racked up like 400 yards of offense" as though they thought that meaningless stats was somehow going to relieve them of the literal rape they incurred on the scoreboard.

I've seen LSU and Alabama players up close and personal. Trust me, neither WVU nor Marshall have athletes of that caliber.

'77 - Really? It's pretty simple: LSU's defense made the Hilltopppers 1 dimensional. The only offense they had was to have Doughty chuck it 62 times! Do you think that rushing for 23 times for 123 7yds was Brohm's gameplan? No way. A good defense that can get pressure with 4 & drop 7 into coverage is going to have a very good chance vs WKU, and if we can put together some clock eating drives, I think we have a great chance..

Go HERD !!!

'77 drove past WKU's campus once...so thats why he knows football.
