Mattis Threatens North Korea With Annihilation

China could stop this in 30 minutes. Scary with Trump. He better listen to his generals but a nuclear strike wont help if they hit us first

All i can say is I hope we don't go to war with them. I would add that Mattis is aware that the loss of life will be massive. So with that being said, I think we will be very cautious about getting into a war. I hope I am right

Ever read the book One Second After? It's decent post EMP fiction and gives some prepping ideas.

I'm afraid he is as brainwashed as his fellow countrymen and actually thinks he is some magical being. You have to think about it, does he think if he delivers one missile toward the U.S. That he wins something? First, even if he could achieve the distance and we couldn't shoot it down, what kind of accuracy would it have? Just as likely to land in the desserts of Nevada as in Los Angeles. Then he has to sit there for the next 60 seconds watching every single person in his country die a horrible death (if he doesn't die from the initial hit).

This is the thing with Kim Jing-un...trying to guess the level of crazy. My instinct tells me he will continue to do what he's always done...make theatrical shows of weaponry development, then using that to leverage some deal where we send truckloads of money if he promises to be good. But that's just an educated guess. The dude might be as crazy as he seems. And that's scary given the stakes. I really don't envy the guys who have to figure this stuff out. I go back and forth personally between thinking lets just blow this guy off the map and get it over with already and then thinking...Christ...a lot of innocent people will likely die in that scenario. Again...I'm glad I'm not making this decision.

I'm terrified of him EMP'ing the planet.

I seriously have slowly went out and bought two weeks of non-perishables and am stocking up water out of the tap. I honest to goodness have a fear he will.

Serious question...do you think he has the capability of reaching mainland US or is the prepping because of a possible economic collapse if he drops something on SK, Japan, or Guam? I guess I can see the possibility of him getting something in, but with all the embarrassing weaponry failures displayed over the last decade, he just doesn't seem capable of wreaking havoc outside of his neighborhood.

My opinion is he has the capability to hit mainland US but he won't use an emp device on us. His target would be Japan or Seoul

We are safer right here in ky. I have family with a underground bunker. Actually a home underground.

We need to assinate him and those close to him. Maybe a cruise missile to take him out. Use rodman to kill him like in that movie

The post-WWII generation in Japan has seen the folly of "self-defense" and is chomping at the bit to get Imperial Japan back together. Japan has a similar problem to a lot of Asian nations. Lots of dudes and not enough women to go around, makes them unstable.

He's going to need several 1+megaton devices to do that. And then 30 minutes later NK is a hole in the ground.
More specifically, I'm worried about him EMP'ing the United States (& Guam), Canada, Europe, South Korea, & Japan.

I am guessing it would take a very high altitude detonation of a one megaton device, over the far northern US or Canada. Lower altitudes (for a lower yield) and maybe we shoot it down. And then NK becomes a hole in the ground, either way. At least I like to think we would retaliate with nukes, and Russia and China understand to stay the fvxk out of that business, as we should with them if someone wants to nuke them. It's definitely not a happy scenario, though.

That's because I got his name wrong for some reason. Gavrilo Princip.

Got it. Do you think that the assassination of Kim would serve as a catalyst for a major war like it was in WWI? I think if the US intentions were to maintain a presence in NK if Kim was toppled you might be right. No way China or Russia allows a bordering country to have a US military presence. But right now China and Russia aren't real happy with NK either. China has already gone on record saying they would not intervene if NK levied the first aggression. If I were the US, I'd be secretly having communications with Russia and China about what should happen if the Kim regime was toppled. They might be already.

As far as Japan goes, that's an interesting point. Quite frankly, Japanese nationalism sounds like a scary thing to me.

Here is the issue(s). Japanese historically hate Koreans. Koreans historically hate Japanese. Japanese hate Chinese. Chinese hate Japanese. Koreans hate Chinese. Chinese hate Koreans.

Nobody really likes the guy in North Korea. Let's say we let China handle him. Well, what do you do? Let China take North Korea over? The South Koreans and Japanese won't like that. Try to unify Korea? China will never go for that.

Here is one scenario. Little Fat Chubby Buddy In North Korea knows his only chance at survival is having a nuke. That is his regime's protection. Before he gets the ability to serve on up on Japan or CONUS or US territory you get with all the players(Japan, South Korea, Russia, China, and USA). You bait the idiot into doing something or go to far and you get a consensus that he has to go(similar to what we did to Hussein). You let somebody take him him. Preferably a coup by the Chinese and you unfortunately have to install a puppet government. That avoids a full scale war but do we let the Chinese have a puppet government?
