Mean Green

But the Herd should be beating teams like UNT at will, right???

Like their overall "toughness" and they way they play D. And their best player had NO offers out of high school! Went to a Junior College where he obviously developed! But, of course, we see no need to recruit players from junior colleges; DD would rather develop "projects", and "more projects"!!

For basically the what, 5th time in last 6 tournaments, C-USA gets a first round win.

Disrespect the bottom of the league all you want. The top of CUSA basketball is pretty strong, and has been for some time now.
But, but, but CUSA hoops is no good.

So now we have "progressed" to "once, from 4th place, we got hot for 8 days, it might happen again someday" to "once, from a tie for 5th place SOMEBODY ELSE got hot for 8 days, that proves how great it is".

This conference is crap. It is there to be controlled, by anyone who simply DEMANDS EXCELENCE.

Ask WKU & Rick Stansbury how easy it is to win it.

I don’t think so. But we were the 2nd night when we beat them. West was out and Williams was hobbled with an ankle.
I attended that one, & I don’t recall them having any injury issues.
HUGE win for N Texas!! Did you catch that the color man (!) said the Mean Green is 10-1 this season when they score 70+ points? It would have been 11-0 except for .....the Herd!!

And La Tech wins an NIT game. CUSA hoops off to a much better start then football had during the bowl season.
And somehow WKU won their first round NIT game too. So CUSA basketball is 3-0 in postseason with 2 wins over P5 conferences while CUSA football lost its first 3 bowl games (and the 3 that followed). Now which sport is the weaker of the two?

WKU "convinced" a 5-star prospect to pick them over Kansas, and still can't win a conference championship. That school is pretty much "whatever it takes" personified, and they got dust to show for it.

In college sports, everyone expects to win, and every fanbase has a hardcore section of people who scream their heads off into the endless void of time and space about how intensely the expect their school to win. In the end, though, who wins usually comes down to who cheats the best (and also gets lucky).

Thats not true. Hamlet had offers from schools like Buffalo, VCU, EKU and North Texas out of high school. He was actually committed to Buffalo before he had to go the JUCO route.

Tell it to the game announcers, they made the statement. Believe they also said another NT player, maybe Reese, had perhaps committed to Buffalo earlier, but went to the JC along with Hamlet, and they both then decided to commit to NT.

Oldherd you must have forgotten how Tom Herrion at one point turned us into JUCO U and it didn’t work as we would get one or two years out of them.

Arguing that CUSA basketball is at a higher level than CUSA football is so ignorant as to be dismissed without comment.

In any event, typical CUSA year. This sorry one-bid conference yields a hot streak conference champion with a low NET rating, due to the level of competition, which is thus under-seeded a little. Nature of the formula, and what happens when the bottom third of the conference doesn't even try. It wins one game, then gets blown out in round two.

Whose saying MU should be "junior college U"? Hell, no worse than being "project U"! Herrion probably got as much out of some of his JUCOs as Danny as gotten out of most all of his shot in the dark projects!! Hit or miss in either case. Just saying when there is an IMMEDIATE need, bring in a quality, experienced JUCO for a couple years who can play RIGHT NOW!! I'd rather bring in a quality JUCO who can contribute immediately next season than to rely on, say, Satenec, who heading into year 3 at MU still can't figure which end of the floor he is on!!
