This is horrible. Dude jumped to his death from the atrium at the airport. I won't speculate if missing a couple of paychecks did this, but I am sure others will.

They tried that angle with some woman in Fayetteville(you can imagine the type but I am not going to say it) NC. She says she got evicted because of the shut down.

Come to find out she had been late on rent payments 11 times.

But they had to get on their with the woman crying about it and of course I am going to go ahead and say it now: She was African American. They had to play that old race card.

Land lord says not so fast. She was late for nearly a year. The layoff had nothing to do with it. They had already started the process.

Maybe on-line with a credit card? Then stop payment? Also, I think if it is a bank transfer and not to the same bank, it might not be immediate. Bank to same bank at that location is. Bank to a different bank might not be. Or she sent electronic check and then stopped payment.

Then you strip certain branches of the govt of powers which are part of our system of check and balances. In addition, you put the govt at exposure to provide automatic employment in times when certain employees might be needed(times of financial crisis or you need resources elsewhere such in national defense situation).

Again, the govt is not the answer for everything.
