Men top Robert Morris 67-60

Watched it last night. This is the most depth Coach D has had since he has been here.
* see some growing pains with so many new players making contributions and returners taking on totally new roles
*real presence in the paint with the big line up
*Cam Harris-Brooks is a pleasant surprise
*better defensively than the past teams especially w/West-Kinsey-Harris Brooks
*hopefully a floor leader or two emerges soon ( go to guy )
*Beyers is shooting much better

A few takeaways that I saw...

This team is going to be much better defensively than the last several years.
They better be, because we don't have a way to score 90+ to bludgeon teams with offense.
Kinsey has potential to be a star, but he has to continue to work on his shooting and shot selection.
Lots of big guys that all do certain things well, but who have a clear weakness or two.
Have to improve at the free throw line (55%) and beyond the arc (20%)

Gotta shoot the ball better from the perimeter.

Agree with this and RhinoD's prior post. Kinsey and Cam both need shooting practice from 15-18 feet in. Got the feeling both were able to dominate, score inside fairly easily, getting to the rack in and around the paint, due to insane leaping ability, during their high school days. At MU's level, they are going to have to shoot with good accuracy a little farther out due to bigger, more athletic overall defenders, in order to improve their overall offensive games, IMO.

Guys the three foot arc is backed up. Not going to get as many 3s. Much longer shot than most college players are used to.
The move certainly helps Marshall and if you have been to any practices we usually dont even come close to the line with our shots. We are certainly 'used to' shooting from this distance.. Beyers, Jannson West and Taylor have deep range
