That Collins and Dillon are the only two going into the transfer portal and that Kinsey is staying and no changes in DDs staff?

When you insert unfortunately it makes you think a player we hope does not leave ?

This comment is so unnecessary and actually says more about you than the players you disparage. Can't help but wonder if you would make this comment face to face with each player. None of us would want our sons of daughters to read such a comment about them. From now on, just pretend one of them is your son or a son of a close friend or relative. This may help you rethink your editorial generalizations.

Get off your high horse it’s a message board. I’m sure they are fine young men however none of the basketball skills are irreplaceable. No one on the team brings anything that special that we can bring someone else in to do.

Message boards can certainly be read by the folks you are talking about. The question remains, would you say these things to their faces or to a son of yours or of a close friend or family member? No one is irreplaceable.
That is not the issue!

Saying those things to their faces is not the issue. Issue is that a lot of players on this HERD team are not D1 caliber players and do NOT belong on a team that wants to compete for championships, including the National Championship per Danny D's "own words"!! These players are getting a free ride education and they and their parents know it. Even though that fact is detrimental to the stated goal of building a quality and competitive D1 basketball program at Marshall. If that fact is "hurtful" and upsets some feelings, well, "boo hoo"! This is a sports fans message board, not a psychologist's or family counselor's office.

You still have not answered my questions!

Can't expect to seriously compete for any sort of title if the catalyst for said success is still at the helm.

Awww look at you trying to be caring...lol.

Truth is, it works both ways. Hardly anyone on here has any accountability for what they say minus an occasional warning or day ban, and public ridicule from others on here.
If in person, in front of say, the football team, they'd wet themselves at the possibility of 100 or so strong young men they describe as "mediocre" and "the worst we've ever had" re-arranging their faces.

Sad thing is, someone on this board could pay one of those players to read your comment and then slap you in the face if the price were right.

I doubt most athletes care about what is said on here, I know a few laugh at how little we actually know about the program/situation. It's even more distant now when athletes look at programs as a business rather than a program itself. Especially evident is their quickness to transfer out with little to no regard for reason beyond just advancing themselves. This includes the fans and everything associated, both sides refer to themselves as "Me" or "I" and no longer about "us."

Yes I would. But also if a player or their parents get their little feelings hurt by a message board then I don’t want them on our team either

Unfortunately, practicing incivility on a message board creates an illusion it is reality.

Hopefully DD says it.

Go find a social worker to ask!

Student athletes are changing schools almost DAILY! Imagine some of them are doing it with their "feelings hurt". Most, overwhelmingly, are in their late teens, early 20s, and are resilient enough to "suck it up" and go on with their lives, in and out of athletics, in a positive manner. Maybe you should seek their answers!

I agree. They will certainly survive and hopefully learn some things from these experiences. They can probably handle criticism about their play, if specific enough and provided with intent to be helpful. The concern I have is, comments made indicating they do not belong at Marshall. They deserve more respect than that. They are representing Marshall and none of these players have caused any problems or embarrassment to the school or program. Most are getting their degrees, which is the primary reason for being in college. With the possible exception of Kinsey, none of these players are receiving any funds from outside sources for playing basketball at Marshall. We may see more NIL agreements in the future, but I do not see it becoming a major help to the majority of student athletes. My point, most will simply need to complete their degrees to improve their futures. These students are working toward that end. I like winning as much as everyone else but not at the expense of demeaning the students that are doing the best that they can. Message board communications are read by students, family and friends. The words we use create negative or positive images about people and can certainly impact our behavior in the same manner. Total rejection can lead to problems for people that take it to heart.
Incivility is unnecessary and does not create a climate to improve communications or performance.

TK will not see one second on an NBA team. His skill level is not even close to what teams are looking for. In the league every player can jump but they can also shoot and handle the bb. He better play another year for the Herd to erase the poor season we experienced this year.
