It would be awful stupid to bring in a similar type player.
He can opt out of his contract, which I think he'd like to and become a FA. However, he's scheduled to make $23M, which could make him a Top 5 player in terms of money. He's not getting that in FA with how he's played and with the stigma of being a team killer. Plus, the money in the NBA is going to explode in 2017.Supposedly, Howard was on his way out of Houston regardless. Its been said he hated Mike's system and hated playing for him when both were in LA (Lakers). Howard appears to be a very talented player but one who wants to do what he wants and not play within any coaches' system!! Hasn't won a title anywhere he has been, I believe, and doubt if he ever will. I'm sure Mike D has no concerns whatsoever about his pending departure from the Rockets!
