The fall leaves have been beautiful, especially with the sunny days we have had. If only we could eliminate those winter months of January, February, and half of March.

I have a neighbor who is obsessive about leaves falling on his lawn. He is out EVERY day raking them on to a tarp to be taken to the woods or blowing them away. Guess it gives him something to do.

Another neighbor told me a fellow is coming to take away the last of cut up wood blocks from our spring tornado damage. About time. Now I can start restoring the street frontage. That is all.

I’ve made it a point to plan a trip somewhere warm in early February every year to fight off seasonal depression. Last year it was the Dominican Republic, the year before Costa Rica, etc.

Once you make it through the holidays, early February is ideal. After you put the champagne down on the new year, you have a great trip in a few weeks and once you get back it only a few weeks until the weather starts to warm up.

I love the fall. My favorite season. Crisp mornings, warm afternoons, cool evenings.

Took 2/3 kids for a hike this weekend and the leaves/views were awesome.

I want to do a rural-ish new england fall week trip one year or maybe splurge and go back to Blackberry Mountain resort during leaf season. Maybe there or High Hampton or Cataloochee Ranch. So many good options ...The Swag or SKyline Lodge too.

The fall leaves here are garbage. There's maybe 10 pretty trees in town. Our trees are mostly the varieties of oak that just turn brown. It's depressing as hell. Plus it's fire weather, it's hot, winds are out of the south with gusts to 50 mph, fall here is bullshit.
