I would not believe Chuckie if he said MU was going to play Middle Tennessee State next Saturday. He his no "sources" or "inside info" because he has let his bitterness poison his relationship with everybody in the building.
UND does schedule G5 teams (UND's goal is, of course, to play as light a schedule as it can get by with and still be taken seriously). It pretty much has three types of games:
It will do a 1 for 1 or a 1 for 2 with a team that has a big stadium and few fans (such as Temple) in another part of the country. This, since UND fans will snap up most of the tickets, gives them an appearance in another market and something like a home game. Inapplicable to us because we don't have the stadium and we would sell all the seats we do have to our own.
It has this "Shamrock Series" where it plays a team in a pro stadium, such as playing Arizona State in Jerry World in 13. Again UND fans soak up most of the tickets and it is a quasi-home game, and an appearance in a different market. West Virginia doesn't have such a stadium, and the only posibility would be the Redskins, but that won't happen.
A straight cash home game. Take your check and go home. MH says we are not doing cash games any more. Why make an exception for UND? And why would UND want us, when they can get pretty much anybody from the G5 and the bottom third of the P5 in a cash game?
Won't happen.
