Hello Herdsmen!!
Our son is blessed with playing for the Herd and I'm trying to nail down my fall schedule. I work a rotation shift on the Alaskan Pipeline. I have some wiggle room on my schedule but must know dates well in advance. What I need is dates for Meet The Team, possible bowl games and any other event that a dad wouldn't want to miss out on!!
Thanks in advance

Popeyes Bahamas Bowl
Date: Dec. 21 (Miami, Fla.)

R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl

St. Petersburg Bowl

Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl

Arizona Bowl

Independence Bowl (secondary)
Date: Dec. 26 (Shreveport, La.)
Opponent: ACC or SEC selection

Conference USA Championship is December 5th, at the site of the team with the better record.

Independence bowl is only if there's not enough ACC or SEC teams that are bowl eligible to send to it.

I don't know anything about Meet the Team, sorry about that.

Practice starts Friday, August 7th. Presumably, Fan/Media Day will be next Sunday, August 15th. That isn't set in stone though as the actual practice schedule has not been released yet.

Marshall hosts Purdue on Sunday, Sept 6th(Labor Day Weekend). Its the first time The Herd has hosted a Big 10 opponent.

Homecoming is set for 10/24/2015 against North Texas. The date of the Fall Parents and Family Weekend has not been released yet but it normally coincides with one of the home football games.

The most likely bowl dates are: Dec 19, New Mexico Bowl; Dec 21, Miami Bowl; Dec 24, Bahamas Bowl; Dec 26 St. Petersburg Bowl; Dec 26, Heart of Dallas Bowl; Dec 29, Arizona Bowl (Tucson);
If we get the access spot, most likely Peach Bowl (Atlanta) on Dec 31.

Thanks a TON everyone, Like I had mentioned the earlier I can put in my changes the more likelihood of approval. See you on Game Day!!!!

You said your son plays for the Herd! Who is he and what sport? If he plays football it seems to me you would know this info. Just asking and no need for anyone to jump me for asking a reasonable question.

No worries!! It's a fair question. Yes he plays football. Yes of course I know the schedule. I didn't know all the other dates that folks mentioned above. As for who he is.... Let's just say with the awesome weight training staff and hard work on his part he is a very solid 6'8" 263# QB's nightmare! He was nicknamed that his whole career. I don't see it getting anything but better.
Thanks

Ryan Bee?

Been a big fan of The Big Bee ever since he committed to The Herd last Summer. Awesome size for a DE and has a totally positive attitude about playing for MU. Seems like a kid of extremely high character and I can't wait to see him "buzzing" in on some QB's. Glad to have him "Running With The Herd."

I can't tell you how excited we are to see him this year. A post quite a while back said," wouldn't it be cool when Bee gets a sack and everyone goes BZZZZZZZZZ" Yep that would Bee awesome!!!!
Very Proud Pop

Thanks for answering my question and we are glad that your son chose Marshall University to play his college football.

JB maybe we can get a game at Oregon to shorten your commute. Only problem is you might be pretty lonesome in the stands.

I live in Florida and commute to Alaska two weeks on two weeks off. Still have the original home in Ohio. We have the east coast covered. Yes we have tons of sky miles LOL. Hopefully as Mike mentioned the fan/media day is the 15th We will be off work.

Be safe in all those travel, and join us some time at the corner of 5th avenue and 20th street for tailgating when your in town. Just mention this thread and come join us.

JB you must be very proud of your boy. I saw him up close on the sidelines last year before a game and I was very impressed he is going to be a beast!

Oh we are VERY PROUD PARENTS!!!!
I didn't get a chance to visit Marshall for several months after he had made his first visit. I remember how he described it as "it just feels right...feels like I belong there"
After my first visit I instantly knew what he meant.
whf2. My wife and I will be stopping by! Our parking is behind dominos so you can't be to far.
#1CBFan. I think you're going to be surprised at how he looks now
Again a BIG HATS OFF TO THE COACHING STAFF. Every time I see him I just shake my head and grin.
GO HERD!!!
JB
