New Band Uniforms *pic*

Pic by Murdock Photography. The uniforms were unveiled last night during the basketball game. I don't know anything about band uniforms but from what I've read in comments on the HN facebook page these are in more of a Drum Corps style than a traditional college marching band.

I didn't notice it until someone pointed it out, but there is a giant M on the front of the uniform. Now it's all I can see.

As an outsider, I like the new ones over the current ones. The new ones look more like what I imagine band unis are supposed to look like, especially the hat. For some reason, I always think of Dumb Donald when I see the current hats.

Like them better than the current uniforms but I'd really love to see us stop trying to be a drum corp. They're not and won't be until they replace some of those woodwinds with brass and get some increase in volume.

MUCH better than the old ones. I noticed the big M when I 1st saw them. Cool.

I am glad the Marching Thunder got new uniforms however, who picked these? Anyone know? Did the band members vote? Did the director pick them himself? Guess we will see the new unis on September 6 vs Purdue.

I would assume the director since he has a strong drum corps background.

I don't care what the hell the band wears, the band needs to be more fun and have more personality. I believe they took a good step up this year. In years past, the band was extremely boring and used the same formations over and over again, as well as played the same songs. I liked how they mixed things up a little this year.

These are way better than the previous ones.

I don't care as long as the band members like them. I was just tired of seeing those old ones with the wrong color of green.

I think our equipment manager designed them. LOL! Just kidding of course.
