Chatted with a number of recruits who were on campus last weekend. Some highlights from those convos:
Hill: "My lead recruiter is Coach Bowman. He has been consistent for over 2 months. We have definitely build a strong relationship and I know he will make me a better man and player. The Herd family is my family and I had an amazing time on my visit. I will be playing corner at Marshall."
Claville: "My lead recruiter is Coach Trickett and our relationship is growing everyday. I would be playing WR at Marshall. My favorite part of the visit had to be when I stepped on the field."
Claville told me he still plans on taking other official visits but Marshall is very much at the top of his list of favorites.
Hammonds: "My visit went good. I met everybody and the energy was great up there. I am locked in with Marshall!"
Hammonds unofficially visited Marshall over the weekend and things went well for the GA DB. His recruitment has been different than most but for now we're leaving him on Marshall's commitment list.
Harrison: "The visit was awesome, had a great time spending time with the coaches and other recruits! I'm 100% all Marshall!"
Marshall's highest rated commit was in town for an unofficial. He is planning to be back on campus this fall on a gameday for his official.
Jennings officially visited Marshall the weekend of 6/18 and absolutely loved his time in Huntington. He's set a commit date of July 12th but according to our sources, Jennings is not expected to pick Marshall. Seems as though there is not currently room for a third RB in the 2022 class. That could change at any moment, however.
Robinson will be announcing his college decision on Thursday, July 1. We like things to turn out well for the good guys, here. Robinson hasn't been talked about much but he's an important recruit being that Marshall desperately needs some young talent on the roster at linebacker.
Wright has been tough to reach since his official. That's usually a bad sign and sources have confirmed as much with us. As of right now we do not expect Wright to be a part of the 2022 class.
Whyce loved visit to Marshall and was extremely emotional being back at his father's alma mater, but sources expect that euphoria will wear off soon and Whyce will stick with his commitment to South Carolina.
