Congratulations, Randy.

Got me to thinking about the NBA’s 50th Anniversary Team, picked in 1996 for that leagues 50th. Which of course featured:

Hal Greer - 1958-73. Syr, Phl. College: Marshall.

By my count, the schools to have produced players to make both lists are UCLA, Miami (the real one), Syracuse, Florida State, Ohio State, North Carolina, Minnesota, Grambling, Navy, USC Louisville, Louisiana State, and Michigan. Plus two schools that dropped football decades ago, Centenary and San Francisco. And little ole Marshall in backwater Huntington, WV.

Pretty good company.

They offered to do a cookout, but then asked Randy for a donation to cover the meats (Hamrick graciously agreed to cover the buns and side dishes).
