Johnson was on the waived/injured list... Meaning he now must go through waivers, but if no one claims him he will be placed on the Jags' Injured Reserve list... This is a way for teams to hide 3-4 guys in addition to the practice squad. When someone on the Jags practice squad is called up or gets injured, Johnson can be taken off the IR list and placed on the practice squad (after week 4).
My guess is he clears waivers... Spends the next five weeks healing up and working out at the Jags facility and eventually winds up on the practice squad... He looked good on special teams and WR is a high-injury position in the NFL, so the Jags are smart to designate him accordingly rather than just straight cut him.
The good news is he would not need to change his name if he were to pursue a career change.
Jackson was just signed to the Titans practice squad. Haven’t seen anyone else signed to practice squads as of yet.
The Kansas City Star is reporting that 2022 7th round pick Nazeeh Johnson has been signed to the Chiefs practice squad after clearing waivers.
Neville Hewitt is still playing. Not sure why, but every time we discuss Herd players in the NFL we forget about him. He's currently with the Texans. He's one the best LBs we've ever had and one of the least talked about players.
No doubt, but I was only talking about those that had been cut. He’s carved out a solid NFL career for sure.
