Golf tournament not only cancelled for this year, which we expected; but is ending permanently. After a good couple of years, interest died off big time after the newness wore off, which most of us predicted back at the beginning.

It died last fall and today was the obituary.
First few years it was a concert series ( oh yeah, also a golf tournament).

I’d much rather hit the Memorial than go to the Greenbrier Classic for no other reason than the field. Jack brings in a world class lineup.

The Greenbrier Classic actually ended in November 2016, when Big Jim got elected. From there it had helped serve its purpose, and it was just a matter of time before he let it die.

I think it got killed when Big Jim couldn't find corporate backing...a lot of prize money to put up yourself.

The flood occurred in 2016 too. Rough year for the Classic.
