Texas, Florida, and Auburn aren’t exactly nobody’s. LSU has played a more difficult schedule than Alabama so far

nobody is that great this year outside the top 4 it’s all a wash from 5-30

Texas is good in name, overrated

Auburn has an offense as bad as ours

Florida is overrated

this is a down year for college football as a whole, not many great teams

Alabama hasn’t played a team better than those three yet

No they have it and neither has Clemson or Ohio State or Penn State which is why I find it funny that strength of schedule and competition is always a topic of conversation when talking about a non-P5 school that has went undefeated. Absolutely no difference between a non-P5 schedule and the top five power schools in the polls

It doesn’t matter. They’ve already more than proven themselves in the recent years. No program has had a run like they are in the middle of. Just because this is their first real test doesn’t mean they’re still not the best team in the country. They give LSU a wake-up call on Saturday.

The issue is that this isn't a life time achievement award, it is suppose to be based on this season. Given your thought though, how do you explain Clemson, the undefeated, defending national champion who has the longest winning streak in the country, being ranked number 5? Their resume the last several seasons is as good as, or better, than Alabama's.

You’re missing the point. I’m talking about the massive tidal wave of momentum the program has built and the Tide proving they are the elite, sustaining power in college football while All-American talent and top coordinators depart the program and there is little continuity from top to bottom on the coaching staff. As long as Saban has the drive, there are few that can compete.

I have no explanation. Alabama and Clemson have separated themselves from everyone else and until someone knocks either of them off of the pedestal, they should be 1-2 in any credible rankings.
