Doesn't mean anything if sista is right. He is such a punk he has to try to connect himself t\o it. I now him because I vicariously live my life through athletes I may have been within 20 rows of. The sick dude tries to connect himself to guys he may have seen and we are supposed to like or respect him for it.

Great article. You know, I hate to admit it, but I've never really thought about it from the players perspective. You can tell Patrick is very mature and is handling his career as a true professional.

People wonder why these players have a selfish attitude. A lot of it is because of how they get treated by the owners. You arrive to the arena, get ready to play the game, get called up to the office and get told you're moving your family across the country. You may have worked your ass off into a nice role and when you get traded, you don't even know if that team has you in any future plans and you may be moving again at the end of the year...or get cut.

It's rough. The whole thing about the age limit in the NBA isn't just about on court play & ability. If you aren't a LeBron James, you're probably going to get moved around a lot. Look at how many teams Mayo has already played for. You've got to have a hell of a lot of maturity and a man's attitude to deal with it.

It could be worse.........you can play in the NFL, lead the NFL in rushing and the team tells you "Well, we really don't want to do a long term market until you test free agency and see what your market is like first"

Atleast the NBA has guaranteed contracts. You can ride the pine for years and still get paid millions as long that your a good practice player

Could be even worse. You could be digging a ditch or delivering pizzas for a living and not playing basketball.

Just like an artist that gets paid millions for their work. They have the talent unlike you.

Plus someone digging ditches and delivering pizza doesn't really inspire to be much in life.

Yeah. Plus I don't remember when digging ditches ever came up in this conversation.

No matter what you do to earn a living, it's rough when you're constantly moved and get moved every time you get comfortable in your job. I don't care if you are digging ditches, have a desk job, or if you work a mile underground in a mine or what seems like a mile in the sky building skyscrapers. It's rough for 40 year old men. Even tougher for kids.
