No TV Broadcast for Marshall Men’s Hoops at FIU on Friday - Marshall University Athletics

There will be no broadcast of tonight's men's basketball game (Friday, January 22) after COVID-19 contact tracing knocked out its video production staff.

This just seems lazy on ESPNs part. There’s absolutely no one else who can do it and no backup crew on standby?

ESPN is not involved in any way of an ESPN 3 or ESPN+ telecast. They simply pass on feed sent them. Those games are 100% produced by the host schools. That means announcers, camera people and directors. Since they work in a group they are quarantined together.
There was only one camera in the building tonight and that was the basketball staff camera operator downloading video for the respective coaches to use for teaching purposes. In fact when I saw Danny 30 minutes ago he and the staff were evaluating for tomorrow's film session with the players. Ivan, the video coordinator will be up most of the night cutting clips Danny was out of the game for the session
