Trained with the ROK Marines when I was in Korea. During their simulated attack we through MRE’s their way. They stopped the exercise and started ripping them open and eating everything in sight. Our BN CO was enraged at us for fvcking with them and screwing up the entire field op. That’s what we he got for canceling our Australian trip to train in Korea, he is now the Chairman of the Joints Chief. Their weapons and tactics were shit but otherwise they were pretty cool to hang with.
The mountain collapsing isn't anything to be happy about. That is a potential environmental disaster. Not only for NK but the entire region including China and Russia. Land slides and destabilization could cause release of radioactive dust and debris that could cause some serious harm to that area. Can you imagine the poor souls that have to work at this testing site? I can’t imagine that their safety is any priority.
I’d gladly give Trump any credit if his hard line rhetoric is playing any part in resolving the issue with NK. But the fact is no one on this board has a clue whether NK’s recent announcement is serious or a ploy. Only time will tell on that. Trump supporters are hailing this as a triumph and his political antagonist are claiming the recent announcements prove absolutely nothing. If this exact same thing occurred in the Obama tenure the exact same thing would be said, with a reversal of who was saying it. I think time will tell. Personally, I hope Trump is succeeding with NK.
On a side note I’ve also read where the collapse involved just one tunnel so it wouldn’t be a major operation to just shift to another tunnel within the site. That’s something I’m sure we’re watching.
