I just don't understand it. Kim is a "great guy" who "loves his people and loves his country." He definitely didn't starve his own people, torture them for speaking out against him, savagely kill his own family, torture and imprison thousands for no reason . . . so why would this happen?

It's not like so many of us said that Kim was playing cheeto like a chess piece and that this would happen. It's not like cheeto's great words about Kim gave him great significance around the world and validated him to his own people.

We have a guy who has tortured, starved, and imprisoned his own people. We have a guy who has murdered his own family. This guy had no validity on the world stage and wasn't looked at as an equal to other world leaders.

So what does cheeto do? He completely gives the guy support, gives validity to him not just in front of his own North Korean people but also the entire world, and claims he is a good guy, etc., all in an effort to get something out of the guy. The guy promises he will provide what is wanted, cheeto claims it is a huge success ("North Korea is no longer a nuclear threat"), and in reality, rocket man was getting everything he could out of cheeto while exposing him as a moron by not keeping his end of the deal.
