There has never been a national level politician in modern American history who has made the type of racist, xenophobic, sexist, and inappropriate comments like trump has. There is a reason why there was nothing like this type of reaction against McCain, Romney, any of three Bushes, etc.

I have a very, very small circle of what I would call close friends. Less than a handful. They have diverse views and philosophies ranging from moderate to very liberal. I have known most of them for decades and I don’t see myself dropping any of them because of their votes for Trump, Harris, or any other politician.

I wasn't saying that you're a conservative. You attempted to say that the political beliefs of your friends have no relationship to your friendship with them, yet now you're saying that all of your closest friends are moderates or liberal. That's easy to maintain those friendships when they all have the same philosophy as you.

One or two are very liberal like I mentioned. Actually, when I get together with friends, I know their political leanings and how they may be different from mine, but we seldom discuss politics. Just recently I had lunch with a couple who flew in from their home in Albuquerque. We talked about art galleries in their area, how the landscaping was progressing on their new home, a few Marshall memories, and how safe Hinton (where we were eating) might be if the Bluestone Dam ever failed. I couldn’t care less how they voted and I have never told any of my friends how I vote.
