If trump hadn't been born into wealth, he'd be in a soup line somewhere.
Thanks for the deep comment.
I bet the hypocrites in this thread never take any deductions and gladly pay their full tax bill.
Trump's taking advantage of our inane and stupid tax laws is hardly a big story.
So? Did he do something illegal? Has he been in jail?
nope
so he knows the tax code good enough to take advantage of it. Sounds like EXACTLY the right person to fix the tax code...
You might have had a point, except for the fact that he wants to give those who have the wealth to avoid taxes a bigger tax cut. In effect, he wants to give people like himself, who may not pay federal income taxes for years, a bigger break. When's the last time you paid 0 federal income tax?
He probably doesn't know the tax code any better than you.
I'm poor and have lots of kids. So thanks to the Child Tax Credit et al I have not paid federal income taxes in years.
I don't desire punitive tax structures for people just because they are rich so I don't really care how much they pay in taxes. This is all part of the reason we should switch to a consumption-based tax system instead of an income-based one.
If I buy 199 12-packs of booze a $10/pack or buy 1 megayaht at $5.6 million who pays more in taxes?
I would bet Trump knows it better than you and Hillary.
Greed, you ever take any money or pay employees under the table? you know a cash deal, not on the books?
Maybe Trump leaked it him as part of his strategy to lose the election.Would the Times print Hillary's medical record if they got their hands on it knowing it would be used against her? If Trump didn't break the law & the Times printed that return without his permission - while admitting they knew they could be litigated (& they have), Trump's action against them could be very serious.
based on his, guiliani's and his surrogates response to
this sadly he does not.
why you ask.
simple.
what tax return are the loss carryovers on?
his personal.
therefore taking them has nothing to do with
his "fiduciary duty to his stockholders".
trump or anyone else has the option to either
carry back the losses - which he did not do apparently
because he had no past income to apply them to or
carry them forward or simply ignore them. there is no
tax law that says you must carry the losses over.
i have no problem with him using the carryovers, i use them
at every opportunity - you would be crazy not to. BUT to say
he had to because of his fiduciary obligation is just plain
bull whoopy.
the real issue is that he lost $1,000,000,000.00 in one year
and claims to be a brilliant businessman.
not only did he lose a billion dollars in one year he lost it in
the casino business. has anyone ever heard of a las vegas
casino going bankrupt. one or two may have but i have not
heard of it. you have to be pretty inept to lose money in the
casino business.
and if you lose one billion dollars in a single year and that is
your claim to the presidency - you just look like a fool.
Would the Times print Hillary's medical record if they got their hands on it knowing it would be used against her? If Trump didn't break the law & the Times printed that return without his permission - while admitting they knew they could be litigated (& they have), Trump's action against them could be very serious.
That would be an interesting situation. Because it would definitely come out in the suit that I assume he'll file against the Times.I can think of one way they would not need his permission: if his wife at that time gave it to them.
Lighten up a little on the shtick if you're going for humor. If you're going to have a parody account, the key is to do it intelligently.illegal to take the t/r's
NOT illegal to print them.
IF
it is in the public interest
which it clearly is.
NYT IS 1st class A#1 news organization in the world they wouldn't act illegally
you can take that to the bank right along with anything dherd tells you.
we are equally authoritative.
