To be fair, his name is probably Gregory. Maybe it wasn't as common to shorthand names back in the 40s.

I've legit known 2 ladies named Anita. One's last name was Friend, the other's was Dick.

FTR, both of those last names were their married names and they both had a great sense of humor.....hell, they had to in order to assume those married names.
