Official Week 1 Depth Chart has Emerged

Charles Montgomery, originally recruited as a DB (to my knowledge), is wr-z #1, beating out Ahmed (3rd?) surprises me. Thats the one that really stood out to me. Montgomery was a big-time recruit with a massive list of who's who of P5 offers, so I know he has the talent. Also, our D-line size is respectable again.....thats a nice change of pace!

A few reactions...

Offense --
• Ahmed being the #3 guy at his position is a surprise to me... Montgomery must be a baller to beat out two older guys who have some level of experience.
• We are stacked with big-bodied blocking TE's
• Paillant getting beat out at LG is a bit of a surprise. My guess is he will be our 6th offensive lineman due to his experience and versatility at multiple line positions.

Defense --
• We return a ton of talent -- Beauplan, Neal, Leggs, Burton, Cumberlander, Porter, Gray, Gillmore, Abraham
• Safety is the big unknown with two transfers penciled in as starters.
• Keaton being a starting WR and the punt/kick returner scares me a bit. Most teams are not putting a starter out there to handle returns due to the injury rate. His personal injury rate is also not great.

I say this often but Caleb Coombs has really disappointed me.

As quick as Huff signed him I thought he’d be an immediate contributor at one of our weakest positions.
