1 day - and by the way climate change is a hoax.
climate change is just a way for v.p. gore (should be
president gore - except for another stolen election)
to make a lot of money. says the party of $60,000
worth of golf cart rentals and tens of millions of
hotel room rent DONNIE TWO SCOOPS.

None of that has anything to do with trump giving them anything they want or need with no questions ask. Trump will help them to the max. Your sre just ad full of hate as a kkk man. You liberal atheists want preachers put on the list of hate groups for preaching the bible about homosexuality. Preachers in most cases are the best in this country.Help more people than the gov does. Because trump is an idiot is no reason for you to be one too. You need to look in the mirrow. Libs should start their communes like the hippi's did in the 60'. Only hippi's today have parents backing their quest to over throw the goverment. Keep it up and trump will serve 8. Do you want that? Better try to be an american eho cares for all americans just not illegals transgenders and gays which is against the bible.

sisters, one of the points is that texas is one of those conservative states that talk about how bad socialism is, and how the government is too big, and how the taxpayers shouldn't foot the bill for those who don't make "good decisions." BUT, they will have no problem asking taxpayers who have nothing to do with texans making the choice to build and live in an area that gets hit often with these type storms, to foot the bill for their poor choice to live there. All of a sudden, it's not socialism?

Fvck off. Politics can go to hell when fellow Americans need help in a disaster.
"Cruz and others voted against it because the Sandy bill was full of loads and loads of pork nonsense". - ONE THING I'VE LEARNED OVER THE YEARS - A POLITICIAN CAN ALWAYS FIND AN EXCUSE FOR DOING WHAT HE KNOWS IS WRONG, AND FOOLS
LIKE KEEPER WILL ALWAYS FIND AN EXCUSE FOR BELIEVING THEM.

i agree 1000%, & i'll raise you that you should not posture yourself politically when americans are suffering.

When the Senate passed the long-delayed$50.5 billion Hurricane Sandy reliefpackage Monday, 36 Republicans voted against the bill. But of the 32 no-votes from Senators who are not brand-new members, at least 31 came from Republicans who had previously supported emergency aid efforts following disasters in their own states.

The “hypocritical” list includes:

1. Kelly Ayotte (R-NH): Requested disaster aid after Hurricane Sandy.2. John Barrasso (R-WY), Republican Policy Committee Chair: Requested disaster aid after flooding.3. Roy Blunt (R-MO), Republican Conference Vice Chair:Demanded the Senate be called back from recess to pass disaster aid during a drought and boasts: “When a disaster surpasses the ability of states and communities to rebuild, Senator Blunt believes the federal government should prioritize spending to help the people whose lives and livelihoods are impacted. During his time in the Senate, he has fought tirelessly to ensure that Missouri gets its fair share of those federal resources specifically dedicated to disaster recovery.”4. John Boozman (R-AR): Requested disaster aid after snow storms in January 2013.5. Richard Burr (R-NC): Requested disaster aid after severe storms.6. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA): Requested disaster aid after flooding.7. Dan Coats (R-IN): Requested disaster aid after tornadoes. 8. Tom Coburn (R-OK):Requested disaster aid after winter storms and for extreme drought.9. Bob Corker (R-TN): Requested disaster aid after flooding and asked for supplemental emergency flood relief. 10. John Cornyn (R-TX), Republican Minority Whip:Demanded drought relief aid and requested disaster aid for wildfires.11. Mike Crapo (R-ID): Boasted of obtaining a FEMA fire safety grant and pushed for a billproviding emergency drought relief.12. Mike Enzi (R-WY): Requested disaster relief after flooding.13. Lindsey Graham (R-SC): Requested disaster relief after freezing and boasted of obtaining emergency drought relief.14. Chuck Grassley (R-IA): Requested disaster relief after severe hail storms.15. Orrin Hatch (R-UT):Requested disaster relief after flooding.16. James Inhofe (R-OK): Boasted of obtaining disaster relief after severe storms and drought.17. Johnny Isakson (R-GA): Requested disaster aid after flooding.18. Mike Johanns (R-NE): Requesteddisaster relief after flooding and blasted Democrats for “inaction on disaster relief” for drought and wildfires.19. Ron Johnson (R-WI): Requested disaster relief after a blizzard. 20. Mark Kirk (R-IL): Appealed after FEMA denied assistance following severe storms and tornadoes.21. Mike Lee (R-UT): After calling federal disaster relief unconstitutional, endorsed relief aid after flooding in Utah.22. John McCain (R-AZ): Endorsed disaster relief after flooding

Climate change my ass (and I am a believer). There's a giant ridge keeping the storm in place. Shit happens.
Agreed
Time to help fellow americans

"if only trump would have signed the paris agreement, this horrific storm could have been avoided."

Or maybe karma for those texas republicans voting against Sandy relief.

Unless you're a republican, especially from texas.
Why don't you kiss my ass, really. There is such thing as political debate and even heated political debate at times. There is no debate in this. We go help our fellow Americans. This is not a political matter.

Don't spread your fake news. Get the facts.

"As a quick reminder, the Sandy aid package included taxpayer money earmarked for Alaska fisheries, Amtrak “expenses,” new vehicles for assorted federal agencies, and a range of other pork projects completely unrelated to the hurricane.Headlines blast a fact but purposefully avoid context or explanation."

Herdit44 you keep posting the overview but I suggest you open the details tab. You'll notice all the extra votes some that passed some that failed for extra monies to pet projects. Not all the monies in this bill went to rescue sandy victims.

here's the text of the bill that became the law, which cruz and others voted against. show me the pork in this bill:

Why was money allocated to fish hatchery's throughout the US included in a relief package for hurricane Sandy?

Because fish hatcheries happen to be important and needed money to continue? There wasn't all that much pork in the hurricane sandy bill. Unless you include as pork the following:

• $3.5 billion for the Corps of Engineers for future mitigation efforts to protect against climate change.

• $17 billion in Community Development Block Grants for any states with disaster declarations since 2011, because of their history as "a political slush fund," especially since $2 billion was "to mitigate future risks, not existing damage."

• $2 billion for U.S. Housing and Urban Development to be used for "long-term recovery … and economic revitalization."

• $200 million for Health and Human Services "to be used at the discretion of the secretary."

• $5.3 billion in transportation money that can be used for projects "related to reducing risk of damage from future disasters."

The money wasn't intended simply for rescue, a lot was for long term recovery.

I have friends with flooded homes, and these idiots want to talk political trash.

Lots of people had friends with flooded homes due to hurricane sandy. It took about 3 months to pass the major part of the bill, as some of the republicans wanted to cut other federal funding to pay for relief assistance.

How about you head to TX and alien away the water?

Seriously, if something is not handled or handled differently come back later and complain or bash or whatever. Right now, help or shut up.

Exactly, Some of these are pork in this situation. A relief bill should be focused on current need and research should be done to see actual cost of all these other pet projects. That's responsible leadership.

You in texas helping with disaster relief? That's what I thought.
Seriously, if something I post on this board hinders the relief efforts, then let us know exactly how. In the meantime, you stop trying to be mr. righteous.

That'd be swell for texas, but you would have a difficult time passing a spending bill to help the northeast with long term recovery as long as republicans are in office.

Extra, is so politically delusional. To think these votes are done for disdain of victims of sandy is ludicrous. There is no us and them in these situations just us.
