I have to say I am a little frustrated seeing the teams combining for that conference, knowing we are not one of them. I know it's not a huge deal, but seeing Temple and Rice playing in the same conference as Stanford, Washington State.. etc just makes me wonder what might have been.

this is only my opinion but here goes. It seems that the current trajectory is to consolidate the "P5" conferences into 2 maybe 3 at most 4. The Big 12 outmaneuvered the Pac 12 and brought them down. There is no way that adding teams from the aac or mt west is going to be on the same level as the previous schools. Maybe I am wrong but it seems that we are seeing before our eyes the shakeup of the 64 teams that have enjoyed this status. I wouldn't be surprised to see around 48 when the dust settles.
