Pats shopping Dobson:

Probably the best situation for him. I'd love to see a team like the Panthers pick him up.

The Bengals could use some help at WR. With Green going down in the preseason game (they said it wasn't serious but still scary) and the departure of both Jones and Sanu, they really are shallow in that position. If he could stay healthy he could be a solid 3rd option in that offense

if you can't make it in NE with tom brady, where can you make it?

he has had several injuries and hasn't broken through. Some times a change of scenery is all it takes. I will agree his future is certainly not as bright as it once seemed, but that doesn't mean he is doomed in the NFL

NE's system is pretty complex. Look at Chad Johnson. You would think like Moss he would flourish with Brady throwing him the ball, but they said he could not get the system down enough to garner playing time.

so, you're saying dobson doesn't have the football IQ to play in a complex offensive system? well i'll tell you he's up against it then because he's not a freak-ish athlete like moss and chad johnson, and apparently doesn't have the football IQ to run in a complex system, things will be limited for him.

i'm guessing the pats will end up having to release him, then someone will claim him on waivers and give him a shot.

Not necessarily saying he doesn't have the football IQ. I'm just saying maybe it's that or his injuries. Whatever it is he flashes for a game or two then goes away.

Dobson was a Randy want-a-be and tried to do his own twist (thing) on the WR position! There is something missing that started to show with Randy as well which, I saw as I am better than anyone else and you better know! In Randy's case he was better... Dobson just does not have the consistency Randy had! Randy did have let down moments but far and few between!

Seems to me there is no way for an outsider to judge Dobson. His injuries have been his demise. He hasn't been on the field enough for a fan to get a good feel for his performance.

Dobson has had the best pre-season this year since hitting the NFL. Last week he had two catches for 48ish yards. And last night he had 3 catches for 61 yards.. Both of those performances have come while playing with Tom Brady. Something tells me that Brady really likes Dobson...because to be honest, how many other players have contributed as little as Dobson has the past three years and still been kept on the team? I believe Brady likes Dobson and knows he has potential. If not, Bill would have released him two years ago. Just my two cents.

Plains hit the nail on the head. Poor dude has been bitten by the injury bug. Can't get a feel for what he's capable of when he's not playing.

He didn't play hard here his last few years. Prima dona attitude. I think it's taken him some years to mature and hopefully he's there now.

2011 12 TDs on 49 receptions.
2012 57 receptions with 679 yards in a spread offense. What a slacker in his last two seasons.

He rarely practiced, didn't block, and 679 yards and 57 catches from a future NFL player, with his tools, against CUSA defensive backs, demonstrates a lack of effort on every play to work to get open. In 2012 we threw the ball all over the yard. He should have had a Watts type year, 75-90 catches and 1,100 yards.

Well Dobson has been cut by the Patriots
