2003: 8-4 Overall (MAC)
Losses to Tenn./Troy/Toledo/Miami(O)
No bowl game.
2000: 8-5 Overall (MAC) Champs
Losses to Mich State/UNC/Toledo 42-0<--/W. Mich./Ohio
Won more games from 2012-Present than 2004-2011 I believe, someone else can do the math.
The above seasons were in the "Golden Era", and one we were MAC champs.
This year on a rebuild season, we are 7-1.
5th String RB/WR convert is the interim starter, True Freshman at QB, 3 OL injured, DJ injured and Grooms/Butler gone, AJLx2 both gone, Houston/Beal quit.
1st place in the CUSA East, with an option to defend the title still.
Keep in mind we only won that CUSA trophy ONCE.
Yes, the offense must improve, but the rushing attack is still beyond solid.
Could a Pruett/Snyder team face all that adversity and be 7-1? Nope.
I do hold Doc responsible for that OU loss, but plenty to be grateful for and a ton of room for improvement.
Think about that, 7-1 and a sky high ceiling with miles of improvement to be made.
