I have learned over the past month that dates were just like a mortgage lender throwing out a preapproval letter right after application back in the day. Really wasnt worth much more than the paper they are written on, and the dates for players reporting were pretty much the same. They kept changing.
So the dates got pushed and pushed, but now, after speaking with several different sources from all over the board, it appears that some form of the following will begin to happen soon.
Players will report back in groups. I am gathering it will not be exactly by position (or even sport, as other athletes could be returning at similar times as well.) This will begin as early as in the next 48 to 72 hours. They will be scattered over the next 6 to 8 weeks. Based on talking to some newer signees, it sounds like the newer guys and walk ons will report later on.
This is all good news, as it has went from being pushed out, out out, to actually coming forward and with what sounds like could be a plan.
