Reading this now.

I was living in Portsmouth during some of the events in this book and saw the beginning of the opoid crisis. Crazy stuff.

What a load. I've lived and / or traveled the entire state of WV for over 60 years and Huntington is a better place to live than 99% of WV. Your entire post is a joke it's always best not to reveal your ignorance.

Take the damn blinders off next time you travel around the state. Of course, I say that, assuming your opinion of better living is being amongst Detroit thugs, high crime, bad football, bad basketball, whores, and heroin.

D t - Never met one
high crime - haven't encountered
bad fb - not my concern
bad bb - not my concern
whores - not in my company
heroin - not in my company ** company meaning my personal acquaintance. Not sure you could figure that out.

I repeat, taking into account the GOOD and the bad Huntington is preferable to 99% of towns and cities in WV. My eyes are wide open every week that I'm traveling thru the state which adds up to about 35 weeks a year.

If you are looking at violent crime rates, neighborhoodscout.com offered a comparison. Violent crime rates per 1000 population:
Beckley 14.13
Charleston 12.63
Wheeling 9.15
Clarksburg 5.32
Morgantown 3.84
and
Huntington 3.84

Yep, Huntington and Morgantown have the exact same violent crime rate according to neighborhoodscout.com

So, you're not blind. You're just a big dummy.

Keep, have you read Hillbilly Elegy yet? I'm about half way through it - not a bad read so far.
